On August 25, 2010, IDEAL INDUSTRIES Inc. acquired certain assets of SK Hand Tool Corporation and has formed a new company, SK Hand Tool LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of IDEAL INDUSTRIES INC. IDEAL is a well known brand offering products for professionals in the electrical, datacom, wire processing and OEM electrical connection market, and is known for making a professional’s job easier; products that you can rely on, with warranties you can trust, and products that are available when you need them. The acquisition of SK Hand Tool is the latest of three acquisitions IDEAL has made this year. All three companies, including SK, Western Forge and Pratt Reed, are known for producing premium, professional hand tools, demonstrating IDEAL’s commitment to United States manufacturing. SK Hand Tool LLC is committed to manufacturing as many products as possible in domestic, SK or IDEAL owned facilities.

New Facility
SK Hand Tool LLC did not acquire the buildings or land that was occupied by the old SK Hand Tool Corporation. Therefore, production of SK’s core products will take place in a brand new, state of the art, lean manufacturing optimized facility in the Sycamore Business Park, 300 yards from IDEAL INDUSTRIES Inc. corporate office in Sycamore, IL. The official groundbreaking for the new building took place on October 4, 2010 for a 130,000 sq-ft manufacturing facility. The construction efforts are being fast tracked and we plan to begin moving equipment into the building in January 2011, with full production ramping up by the second quarter of 2011.
